Like Air image series by Federico Berardi

The intricate textile territories of Beware, Beware are discovered anew in a photographic series by Federico Berardi. Captured not on the body but as treasured archival specimens, the labyrinthine structures, soft undulations, and delicate florets of the collection are revealed, layer upon layer, against soft light.

Berandi deftly puts translucency into service within this series, lending an ethereal quality to the images and throwing our craft, construction, and elaborate handiwork into focus. Pure white embroidery, twirling Irish wildflower blooms, soft peaks, and little cotton stars become gossamer shadows; the topography created by each carefully placed stitch revealed.
